Reed is a narrow upright variety with a compact, self-protecting canopy. It can be regularly pruned to grow in a small space down to 2x2m. It sets fruit readily in November and ripens from November the following year. It can be picked all summer and autumn. The fruit is large, green and round with creamy flesh of good flavour. Plant in spring and early autumn.
